Kellogg Employees Rally to 'Fight Hunger. Spark Change'

Company partnering with Walmart to fight hunger in communities across U.S., will donate minimum of 1.5 million meals

Hunger and food insecurity affects 1 in 6 Americans1. That means our neighbors – maybe even our friends or family – aren't sure where their next meal may come from. But together with Walmart, Kellogg employees across the U.S. are rallying to fight hunger and spark change – and are encouraging people in their communities to join them in making a difference.

Earlier this month, Walmart launched its "Fight Hunger. Spark Change" initiative, inviting companies like Kellogg with hunger relief as their signature cause to participate.

Shoppers can contribute to hunger relief one Kellogg product at a time, through a special in-store promotion at the retailer through May 3. For every purchase of specially-marked Kellogg's foods – including Kellogg's Special K®, Frosted Flakes®, Froot Loops®, Apple Jacks®, Corn Pops®, Pop-Tarts®, Rice Krispies Treats®, Pringles®, Kellogg's® Fruit Snacks and Keebler® Ready Crust – the company will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal ($0.10) to Feeding America, up to 17 million meals in total2.

And Kellogg employees are joining in the cause as well. Employees will contribute to food drives organized by the company at many Kellogg U.S. locations during the week of April 13. By purchasing designated Kellogg's products from Walmart and then donating those products to a Kellogg food drive, employees are essentially making two donations in one. All food collected at Kellogg food drives will benefit Feeding America food banks in the local communities where Kellogg employees live and work.

Kellogg has made hunger relief its global signature cause through the company's Breakfasts for Better Days™ philanthropic initiative – organizing food drives, sponsoring school breakfast programs and making donations to food banks, across the country and around the world.

Through Breakfasts for Better Days, Kellogg Company and the Kellogg Company Fund have pledged to provide 1 billion servings of cereal and snacks – more than half of which are breakfasts – to children and families in need around the world by the end of 2016. In the first two years of this program, Kellogg has donated more than 900 million servings of cereal and snacks in support of hunger relief. Donations made through the "Fight Hunger. Spark Change" program will support the company's Breakfasts for Better Days goal.
